The Church of Madonna di Luzzara (or The unsolved Mystery...)

This incredibly romantic little church, completely unknown by mass-tourism, stands near the village of Pella, on the western shore of lake Orta. It really is worth a visit!
Nothing is known about its origins and its unique structure is still puzzling scholars today.
External and internal walls are covered with late medieval frescoes painted by different artists.
The atmosphere of this place is really special and unique. Just a few years ago, a large painted crucifixion scene was discovered on the wide wall above the high altar, the beauty of which still astounds in this magnificently decorated setting!
Not far from the little church of Luzzara you can reach the pleasant lakeside path.
